Pat Pawley
For over 20 years, Pat Pawley pursued a career as a stained glass mosaic artist. Her designs won numerous awards at glass and fine craft shows in Colorado and Wyoming. She and her husband, Jim, moved to Arkansas in 2005 after he retired from Colorado State University. After setting up the perfect glass studio in Mena, AR, she decided she had had enough of stained glass mosaics. Moving on to the next level of stained glass would have meant a big investment in a kiln and different glass. What to do next was the big question. Pat comes from a long line of woodworkers and crafts people. Being proficient with saws, sanders etc., why not try gourds and make something useful and beautiful at the same time? Many of the same glass designs and embellishments could be adapted to gourds. IT’S A PERFECT FIT! Look for her “gourdos” in gift shops, galleries, fine craft and gourd shows.
