I can't remember a time when I could not draw and paint. Mostly I am a self-taught artist with many years of private one-on-one instruction. As a young child I studied art privately from the late Florence McIntyre who many credit as being the founder of the world-renowned Memphis Art Academy in Tennessee. Although it was my dream to acquire a Fine Arts degree, I decided instead to follow my heart and marry my childhood sweetheart. He has been my greatest source of encouragement and support. In Germany, as a young military wife, I continued further private instruction. My favorite pastime was to visit the many galleries throughout Europe to personally study the world's most famous paintings. It is my objective to create paintings that are infused with unique personal style, which I believe is evident in my work today. Incorporated in every painting is a set of disciplines including mood, atmosphere, strong design principles, and high levels of technical ability. Healthy infusions of vivid harmonious color and design will often be signature markers. I believe being a natural artist freed my spirit of preconceived notions and allowed me to think outside the box. I am passionate about my art and attribute success to hard work and a dedication to excellence. With each painting, whether a success or a failure, invaluable lessons are learned, and with each lesson learned, experience is multiplied. My purpose in life is to enrich other lives through the beauty of art.
