Suzanne Manis
Biography

I was born and raised in El Dorado, Arkansas, and received my BA in French at Hendrix College in Conway. My husband and I have three children and four grandchildren.

As long as I can remember, I have had an interest in ceramics. After raising our children, I decided in 2005 to take Clay I at our local community college. I thoroughly enjoyed it; however, after spending a semester attempting to throw on the wheel, I had only two “mushrooms” to show for my efforts. My husband equipped my studio and included a set of videos; I watched those and immediately threw a pot on the wheel!

In 2008, I opened my showroom. I love making stoneware pottery that can be used in everyday life. I have a large inventory of cups, soup and cereal bowls, bread bowls, fruit bowls, chip 'n dip bowls, jars (for garlic, honey, butter, etc.), toothbrush holders, bath tumblers, jewelry dishes, as well as a variety of small and large vases. I love to add scripture and natural elements to my work.

My stoneware is food safe and can be used in the dishwasher and microwave.
